The Cobb Family

I never had a brother, however now when I look back on my childhood; I had a brother in my uncle Victor.
When I think back on the ages of four and five my most vivid memories are those of Victor. I remember he
would teach me things contrary to the wildness of my childish heart, and still represent some of my most
pleasant childhood memories.

I recall when Victor was around seventeen and how he came to live with my family in Washington. It wasn’t
but a day before he had a circle friends and my respect. Those where some of the best days of my life; he
would take me out hiking with his friends, we would go fishing, he would drive me around town, he was just
like a big brother.

I had my share of childish exploits however; putting salt in his drinks, hiding his shoes, but my fondest
memory is the times I  monitored (without him knowing it) his phone call to his girl friend, Namely Andrea,
a respectable conversation, however nothing less than private domain, which proved to be quiet the
adventure for me. I would go on to meet Andrea and apologize for my childishness. Both I and my mom
found her to be exceptionally kind, and now when I think about Andrea has had only encouraging things to
say. I had the great blessing of giving a word of blessing at Victor’s and Andrea’s wedding and seeing them
began a life together. Jayda, their daughter, is a beautiful apple not far from the tree of her mother’s kind
nature.

I love my uncle and his family, however, my favorite memory of victor is when I was in the Army and my
platoon was jogging, and out of the corner of my eye I see my uncle jogging with his company, and upon
seeing him I shouted out (hey Victor) and he answered back. In that moment I thought how close he has
been to me in my life, and to see our path cross at that venue of our military lives gave me deep and to this
day unrelenting appreciation for him. I’m proud to have  Victor Cobb and Family in my life. I’m a much
better person because of it
